Laravel-Based Library System Design for Service Digitalization

Abstract


Conventional library systems that still use manual recording cause various operational problems such as long-consuming borrowing processes, difficulty in catalog browsing, a high risk of administrative errors, and limited online access. This study aims to develop a Laravel-based library system for digitizing services at SMKN 1 Kedawung. The development methodology uses needs analysis, system design with UML, implementation using Laravel 11 and MySQL, and Black Box Testing. The results show that the system has been successfully developed with online member management features, an integrated digital catalog, automatic circulation, reminder notifications, and a real-time reporting dashboard. Testing proves that all functionality runs according to specifications with increased service time efficiency and data accuracy. The system has the advantages of 24/7 online access and process automation, but is still limited to a responsive web application without RFID technology integration.
